Dallin, Lindsey, and Afton

This week we had dinner with the Parkers (Sarah Ercanbrack) one of our FAVORITE babysitters. She would come over and play fun games and anything you can imagine a fun babysitter does plus more. She brought her 4 kids Dallin, Afton, Lindsey and David. It was so fun to see her with her little family. They are the cutest little kids. Its fun to be on the other side of things and take care of her kids for a change.

Fish Creek... Prayers Answered

The girls
Bubba, Micheala, & Heidi

we walked in to the gas station to get something to eat and the manager sent us out to wash our boots. It was so muddy we had to keep our boots in the horse trailer because of the mud. At least we rode home with a cleaner truck.
Gussie, Carl & Bubba trying to act serious/mad

We went to fish creek up by Fairview with a family friend, Carl Anderson with 2 of his kids and a grandson. Well we got to hiking and David and Jake decided to go ahead. Heidi and Crystal waited for the horses with Bubba (Carl's grandson) 30 mins passed and the horses met the hikers and we decided to set up camp (in C canyon) before it got too dark. So Lynn immediately took off and hoped to find the boys there. When 10 o' clock came around Lynn showed up and there were no boys. We then immediately gathered and said a prayer for their safety and comfort. We talked to each other and remembered that they were prepared. Jake had a sleeping bag and a cot, while David had all the scout stuff (matches, granola bars, fishing pole, a poncho and a coat) so they would be ok. At 6 o' clock Lynn and Carl woke up and saddled up their horses and hurried before it started to rain while Carl was getting on his horse, she freaked out and fell over with Carl on her, to say the least he was sore all day. Heidi and Bubba kept the fire going and waited for everyone to wake up. By 11 we decided to make a plan if they weren't back by 3 then we would start back up to the trucks and get help. Around 12 Lynn and Carl showed up without the boys, then everyone started worrying. We then said another prayer and to help us know where else to look and do. Lynn rode back up to the truck and brought it down and we loaded all of the horse/camping gear on the truck rather than try to make everything even to pack on the horses. We dropped off the gear at the horse trailers and started to get help. We found one of the Forest Service workers and explained what had happened. They then called search and rescue, while we went over to scofield to where the trail ended. With no site of David and Jake we thought we should head back to where Carl was just in case they showed up. We met the sheriff at a parking lot 10 miles to where we were to go and they told us," They need you up there immeidealty!" What were we to think? So in a hurry to get up there we had our radios to talk to Carl so we could keep in touch. We then saw the sheriff and all the search and rescue. Lynn went and talked to the sheriff It was pouring rain and we were so worried David and Jake were in that storm and by then we radioed over to Carl and we heard David’s Voice! The first thing we said was, "are you ok?" He then answered back and said, “Mom I am a prepared scout!" By then Liz broke down and started crying. Everything was Ok! David kept saying that he was not lost! Well we thought he was, he was separated for 19 hours from us. Thank you all for helping us look for David and Jake. Our Prayers were answered.
